What “comes with” my creative fee?
Your creative fee covers my time and talent, including; a pre-session phone consultation, your photo shoot, editing of all proofs, an in-person ordering session, with a beautiful slideshow of your images set to music. I will also help you with your wall design for your home.
When is the best time for a newborn session?
The best time for a newborn session is within the first 5 days after the baby is born. This is when they are the sleepiest and the best time to get the “curl factor” with posing. Please email me when your are pregnant so we can put your due date on our schedule to get an idea when the baby is due.
Do you have a studio? Where do you have your sessions?
I am an on-location photographer. This means I come to your home or whatever location you choose for your session. For newborns, I would shoot at your home. For all other sessions, it can also be at home, a downtown urban feel, at one of the many parks, car junkyard, old barn, the list goes on. Usually we will move to a few different locations to get several looks. I am always looking for new locations. I love old rustic looking buildings. I always bring a few antique props with me to complete the shoot.
What should I bring to my session?
You can bring anything you like. I love to incorporate meaningful items into your family photo session. To list a few; instruments “guitar”, wagons, chairs, favorite toys: trucks, dinosaurs, dolls, bubbles, hats, rain boots, lots of clothes (bring a suitcase).
Can I purchase digital negatives?
My goal is to provide you with beautiful works of art to enjoy in amazing wall galleries, in your beautiful session album, outstanding greeting cards, and exquisite custom storyboards. By working with top professional labs and vendors that are calibrated to provide spot-on color and clarity, we are able to give you the best possible products in the industry. This is our top priority. In addition, we provide watermarked facebook images after purchase to share with friends and family. We know that you would like to own “copies” of files to keep as archives, use on blogs and websites etc. At this time we offer “digital files” only with our collections starting at $600.
How far in advance do I need to book my sesstion?
I book a limited amount of sessions each month so it is best to plan ahead. I am booked 4-6 weeks in advance.
Do you do weddings?
At this time, my focus is on lifestyle portraiture for newborns, children, seniors and families. I do offer engagement sessions.
What is the process after our photo shoot?
After your photo shoot, I will add a few images to my blog within two days so you can share with your friends and family. Within a week I will post the proofs on my online gallery for up to five days so you can have your family choose their favorites. At this time we will schedule our in-person ordering session. All orders are due at the time of your ordering session.
How long does it take to receive my order?
In most cases your order will be ready for pick up within two weeks. Albums and Custom Firefly frames take four to six weeks.
